Using Virtual Meeting Platforms to Connect with a CLI Phone Interpreter

You can easily include a live interpreter in your virtual meeting to communicate effectively with multilingual patients or clients. This guide walks you through step-by-step instructions for connecting with a CLI audio interpreter via Zoom and Microsoft Teams — ensuring clear, confidential, and compliant communication in any language.


Using Zoom to Connect with a CLI Audio Interpreter (Pro Account)

For this interpreting solution, you must have a Zoom Pro plan or above

CLI customers can connect with an interpreter by using Zoom’s Telephone Call Out feature. 

Here are the steps to connect:

  1. Initiate a Zoom meeting.
  2. Click Invite in the meeting controls.
  1. Click the Phone tab.
  1. Enter the invitee’s name. In this case: CLI or similar.
  2. Enter CLI’s toll-free number (800-225-5254) or your proprietary number, then select Invite.
  3. A CLI customer service representative (CSR) will answer and ask for your customer code (if relevant), the language you need, and your billing information.
  4. The CSR will conference you and your patient or customer with an interpreter in the requested language, and then disconnect from the call.
  5. The interpreting session will begin.

Using MS Teams to Connect with a CLI Audio Interpreter 

For this interpreting solution, you must have an MS Teams or Microsoft 365 account that includes a paid audio-conferencing license 

CLI customers can connect with an interpreter by using MS Teams’ dialing out call feature.  

Here are the steps to connect: 

  1. Initiate a Teams meeting. 
  2. Click People in the meeting controls. 
  1. Enter CLI’s toll-free number (800-225-5254) or your proprietary number in the Invite someone or dial a number field. 
  2. Hover over the number that pops up, then select Add phone

  1. A CLI customer service representative (CSR) will answer and ask for your customer code (if relevant), the language you need, and your billing information. 
  2. The CSR will conference you and your patient with an interpreter in the requested language, and then disconnect themselves from the call. 
  3. The interpreting session will begin.
