The MERFi platform prioritizes the security of your communication. Security features include:
- SRTP (Secure Real-time Transport) media encryption: We use advanced encryption techniques to ensure that your audio and video communications with interpreters are securely protected. This prevents unauthorized access and eavesdropping.
- FIPS 140-2 certified libraries: Our libraries have been certified to meet the highest standards of security set by the U.S. government. This ensures that the encryption algorithms and cryptographic modules are reliable and secure.
- Secure HTTPS login utilizing industry-standard PKI: When you log in to MERFi, we establish a secure connection using HTTPS, the same protocol used for online banking and shopping. This employs Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to ensure a safe connection between your device and our platform.
- TLS using strong encryption ciphers for signaling: Transport Layer Security (TLS) adds an extra layer of security by encrypting the communication between your device and our platform. We use robust encryption ciphers to safeguard the data transmitted during your session.
- Password hashing in the database: To protect your login password, we store it in a hashed form within our database. This process converts your password into a unique string of characters, making it extremely difficult for anyone to decipher the original password.
- Encrypted token technology for session security: During your session on MERFi, we utilize encrypted tokens to authenticate and authorize your access. These tokens ensure the security and integrity of your session, preventing unauthorized users from gaining entry.
- No login information retained on the client: We do not store any of your login information on your device. Even if your device is compromised, your login credentials remain inaccessible.
